The Shape of a Destiny Team

Shaping a team culture around destiny conversations anchors a sense of meaning that many are looking for. When you know why you are here, what you are here to do and who you are here to become, in an unfolding way, it becomes easier to be a team player. There is now breathing room and space for everyone on the team to step into their placement on the team and find their rhythm and flow within that.

Leadership can then move to a place of direction, while also giving team players space to explore and express, and ultimately, embody their sense of destiny within a larger context. Motivation becomes more internalized, and when a team is in conversation with each other about their why, what and who, a special kind of chemistry can unfold, based on trust and truly coming to know one another.

Each person’s ‘play’ on the ‘court’ is their own to create and enter, so a competitive atmosphere, which can plague teams, becomes more mutually supportive and generative. Relying on others within the team is clarified because there’s a sense of what each person has said yes to or is moving in the direction of.

Because it’s an unfolding conversation, there’s a creative spark and energy that builds momentum for the team, and the company. It also becomes easier to adapt to shifts and changes on the team, and in the business, and the team is able to access a whole new level that they didn’t previously have access to.

Before stepping into the room, she had already prepared. She had reflected on why she was there, what her role was calling from her, and the […]
