Finding Buoyancy Amid Distraction: Attention Guided by Deep Core Codes
Consider the way a light piece of wood floats no matter how chaotic the waves are. Just like that light chunk of wood, we can develop skillfulness with surfing the waves of life. With practice, the noise of the distraction around us becomes less alluring to our attention, and our focus can settle on the stronger signal of what is at the core. It does take practice to choose where to invest our time and energy wisely.
Distractions are everywhere. There is a lot of money being invested in capturing our attention, sometimes to distract us, sometimes to convince us that everything is ok so we aren’t looking in another direction. This investment isn’t necessarily invested in our well-being or upleveling our skill. How are we collectively and individually dealing with that? When you bring your focus to what you give you attention to, what comes up for you about that?
Having a practice to hold center and be clear about what the deeper levels of self want to do about what is happening in the world around us is helpful for wayfinding. How do we go about finding a way to thrive in a system that isn’t concerned about our thriving? What happens when we choose to give attention to our Deep Core Codes?
When we articulate why we are here, what we are here to do and who we are here to become, and the way we are called to navigate that with the interdependent co-arising waves of change, we begin to develop a frame of reference for what we do want.
Take a moment to befriend your own internal connection to your Deep Core Codes, so that the next time you are in a flurry of distractions, you can hold presence and poise to what the moment might be calling for from you.

Scaling With Meaning

Seeing Patterns We’ve Never Seen Before
When faced with challenge, most of us instinctively search for patterns. How did this happen? Where have I seen this before? Our brains are wired to connect new experiences to old ones. For thousands of years, that worked—because life didn’t change much. Today, it’s different. The patterns emerging now are often unprecedented. The pandemic and […]
